Paul Teleki, Founder, M.A. Paul brings over two decades of experience working in the Federal, Provincial, Municipal, private and not-for-profit sectors in the areas of market research and strategic planning. Developing business relationships and managing client projects is integral to his role at Preferences and he takes great pride in volunteering in a variety of ways in his community. The success of Preferences’ clients is a testament of the pride he takes in his work. Paul is Sensei at the Ninja Academy which operates at the Peterboorugh Sport and Wellness Centre. He is an avid Judo competitor and instructor as well as musician and artist. Paul holds an M.A. in Public Ethics from the University of Ottawa and Saint Paul University and is currently using Preferences strategic methodology to build new enterprises with professionals across Ontario.
Katia Keefer, Ph.D. Dr. Keefer is a Professor of Psychology at Trent University, bringing to the Preferences team her extensive expertise in research methodology, survey design, and data analysis. Dr. Keefer holds a Master’s degree in Applied Modeling from Trent University, Doctoral degree in Social-Personality Psychology from Queen’s University, and Post-doctoral training in Personality and Measurement from the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Keefer has published over 20 research articles and book chapters on the topics of emotional intelligence, resilience, academic achievement, and psychological assessment, and she gives regular presentations on these topics to academic audiences, community organizations, and business groups. A quirky fact: Dr. Keefer was on the team that developed the IQ test for CBC’s show Test the Nation: IQ.
Matt Mulholland, Litigation Lawyer (Gill + Mulholland LLP) Matt has practiced exclusively as a litigation lawyer since his call to the bar in the Province of Ontario in 2008 and provides key legal and negotiation services to Preferences’ clients. He has a wide range of experience in Civil Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Charter Litigation, Human Rights, Professional Liability. Matt has appeared before the Superior Court and the Court of Appeal in the Province of Ontario, the Court of the Queen’s Bench in the Province of Alberta, the Court of the Queen’s Bench and the Court of Appeal in the Province of Saskatchewan, the Court of the Queen’s Bench and the Court of Appeal in the Province of Manitoba and the Federal Court of Canada. He has also appeared before various boards to represent professionals who have faced disciplinary proceedings.
Jessica Fleury, Fleury Design Jessica Fleury is a graduate from Grant MacEwan University’s Design and Exhibit Presentation Program. During her time at MacEwan she sat on the Student Program Advisory Council, the 2012 Grad Committee and acted as an executive member of the Design Students Organization. Jessica graduated from her program in 2012 with distinctions. Jessica has worked professionally with the Works Art and Design Festival in Edmonton, IKEA Canada in Toronto and The Gallery on the Lake in Buckhorn. Through her education and professional experiences Jessica has developed a unique skillset in both spatial and 2 dimensional design principals, and has the ability to effectively integrate the two– creating engaging and informative spaces and exhibits. Jessica currently runs her own freelance design business called Fleury Design.
Robert Gauvreau, CPA, CA, LPA (Gauvreau & Associates) Robert is a Chartered Professional Accountant who has worked in public accounting for over 10 years and has been practicing public accounting in his own firm since 2008. Robert is the firm’s business development leader and also oversees the accounting, assurance and taxation engagements for businesses and individuals. Robert brings key financial and accounting expertise to Preferences’ feasibility studies, master business plans, and commercialization initiatives.
Thomas F. Phillips, Ph.D. (deceased) Dr. Phillips was an economist with thirty+ years experience in post-secondary education. He has taught and conducted research in Canada, the US, and the Cayman Islands. His professional interests were in economic growth (particularly regional and community economic growth), the combination of technological change and changing social institutions that promote economic growth, the critique of traditional neo-Classical economics, international trade and finance, and the history of economic thought. Dr. Phillips works with Preferences in the areas of economic impact studies, feasibility studies, as well as research and development. He brings a unique lens to ensure that Preferences obtains the highest quality data and research projects have the highest integrity.
Kate Ethier, Research Agent (Alumni) Kate is currently completing a double major in English and Theatre Studies at the University of Guelph. In 2015 she completed a summer internship with the RBC Business Analyst team and managed the social media and internal advertising for Kawartha TV & Stereo. The diversity on her resume and education has allowed Kate to nurture a holistic approach to problem solving and critical thinking. Kate brings a history of knowledge and expertise as a research agent with Preferences on a number of high-profile contracts and was integral to the development of Preferences’ first publication on “Turning Market Research into Gold”.
